Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep your floors tidy enough to cut down on the frequency of hoovering manually. Choose a robot vacuum that has good navigation, has the ability to clean stairs and corners and has a large bin that only needs to be cleaned out every now and then.
There are models that mop and charge themselves, which is a feature that is essential for families with pets or children. Many of the best performers in our tests have excellent obstacle avoidance.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO, are identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. The i3+ is a good option for those who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the dust bin after it has filled up.
Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they're excellent in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home that assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. However unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we tested, the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities, so it may be stuck on things like socks or power cords and may have issues in navigating through transitions between surfaces like from hardwood to carpet.
iRobot suggests cleaning the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it might encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filter clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+'s internal bin is filled or the battery is depleted it will return to its docking station and automatically empties its trash into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half continuous use. It takes around three hours to recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot and comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and direct your robot by voice or via the app.
The i7+ is faster and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin, which eliminates major sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room and vacuum the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected we were able to give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world filled with vacuums that are cordless and look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like an old-fashioned sports car. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households, but it also fits in well next to the table for a coffee or shelves where you can move it around like an enchanted device.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then releases cleaner air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to suck up large crumbs and fine dust. It comes with three suction modes that can be adapted to the specific task. It quickly switches from handheld to floor vacuum and back again.
The model also comes with an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in around 3.5 hours, and gives users easy access to two attachments and a clip for a wand. This is a significant improvement over the older Dysons models, which require a lengthy charge and are a pain to store.
The main drawback of the V10 is its limited running time. The tests conducted by CR show that its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is a typical not an extraordinary time to run the battery-powered cordless vacuum. It's still enough time to get rid of the majority of a home that's average size but not long enough to clean every area (though an additional run-through often will suffice). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its benefits It's lighter and more mobile than the older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on low-pile carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums, the 694 is an entry-level model that's a good option for those who don't wish to spend too much money on a robot. It was able to remove all kinds of debris and sizes during our testing and often went over the same area many times to give an efficient clean. The flat front of the unit allows it reach into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice feature.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top choices, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. Because of this, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords and low furniture, and it often runs out of battery power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects, as it has fewer components that require regular maintenance It also comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips and can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and is more effective on floors with low pile and bare.
5. robot vacuum cleaner best is a name is found on all kinds of home electronics It's no surprise that they're also one of the most popular robotic vacuum and mop makers. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacles avoidance.
The app offers a variety of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior customization docking frequency settings and more. It's simple to comprehend and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than the other models we've tested, which might be a deterrent for certain shoppers.
The app allows you to access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning area. This feature allows you to check in on pets or the kids if you're away from home. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned for an easy, quick clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps keep the robot's bin clear and maximizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
In contrast to other robotic vacuums that are specifically designed for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They have a wider cleaning path and a larger dustbin that holds twice as much debris than the competition to keep the area free of debris for the longest period of time. They also have two side sweepers for cleaning along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which can tell whether it's picking up dirt on surfaces or embedded dirt and automatically adjusts the power level. It also has a smart app that lets you browse the virtual map and control functions and schedules. You can also check the status of the vacuum and connect it to the dock for charging at the click of a button. The app allows you to alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it's stuck.
The app also makes it simple to manually steer the robot in the event of need. My living room rug for example, has a darkly-colored border that could cause trouble for other robots. However, the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border without registering it as a cliff. The ability to create weekly cleaning schedules is a great time-saving convenience.
