However unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we tested the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features and therefore it could get stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces like from hardwood to carpet.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including putting away any toys or clutter it might encounter. It's also recommended to keep the bin and filter clean so they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin, which removes a major source of maintenance and lowers the cost of maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room and sweep the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. We were able, once connected, to voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a world of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households, but it also fits nicely on the coffee table or shelves that you can spin around like the magic device.
